Design for games, studios, and esports

App store artwork, studio content and esports concepts for Futureplay, Metacore and Vodafone Giants.

Concept work created for job applications.

Futureplay / Merge Gardens

The mystery in Merge Gardens gave me plenty to work with. I used the supplied characters and backgrounds to build the scenes, adding details from the trailer such as Richard’s missing poster. “Rooted in Mystery” felt right for the characters trapped as topiaries. I made landscape and portrait versions of each design.

The brief also asked for gameplay screenshots. I wanted to include both merging and the mansion puzzle, so I split the layout between the two. I recreated the egg merge to make that moment easier to see.

What else could this be applied to? The animated social content wasn’t part of the brief, but I had the supplied animation sequences to work with, so I wanted to see what else I could do with the designs. I created some social concepts based on what I had already created.

Metacore

I put together ideas for welcoming new colleagues and sharing experiences from the Press Play trainee programme. I used black-and-white photography with Metacore’s colours, then added motion to the text and layouts.

For the Games Job Fair and GDC posts, I kept the same approach, with space for the event details and speakers.

Taking pride in your workplace. I developed several hoodie designs using the company’s colours for staff.

Vodafone Giants

I created a set of Twitter banners for Vodafone Giants and its players. The red-and-black palette, type and sponsor graphics carry across the different accounts.

Created using the Vodafone Giants identity at the time.

For match announcements and results, I made animated game-day, victory and defeat posts using player photographs, team logos and match details.

I also put together jersey and hoodie concepts, including graphics to introduce them on social media.
